I have not seen Don in many years. He was my high school wrestling coach in 72 and 1973. He was a great guy then and so dedicated to his family and his teams. Cant tell you how many times I cracked him in the nose with my elbow or my head during practice. He never once got mad at me. He went on to make a positive change in many lives and was a leader for many people. God Bless
Donald and I were roommates as sophomores at Bowling Green. Donald had an affinity for softdrinks every evening during study time. We took turns running From Rogers to a convenience store in On SR 6; timed AND recorded, of course! He beat me repetitively. I had to “get” him so I bought our fav drinks earlier that day and stashed them in the bushes outside Rogers. When the crave came I ran out🤗; stood outside for an allotted time and returned to the room huffin and puffin! Donald went crazy; frustrated in disbelief. I pretended it was just a “extra gear” I set a new “record” but Donald smelled a rat because I had a reputation of running in one spot for a long time. So he was trying to understand how that happened. Finally I gave in and explained; he loved it😃. I think he was relieved Knowing that he could still beat me. I transfers to ONU for Engineering and we both moved ahead with our lives. I’ve thought about Donald alot later in life and miss him a lot. His smile and laugh will always be with me. What a great friend👌
Don and I were inseparable in Middle and High School in Findlay, playing back yard baseball and hanging out. Sadly we did not keep in touch. What a shame. I hope you are in a good place, Don!
Don was my first assistant wrestling coach at Wilbur Wright High School. That was 1969, so we go back quite a few years. A great guy and a great coach. My fondest memory was the support he gave me during a particularly difficult period in my life. RIP dude.
